FAQs
Why are you called the 1248 Ministry?
Our name is based on our theme verses:
For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.
- Romans 12:4-8

What do you believe?
Our group is primarily composed of young adults from the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. We welcome all people who are seeking to know Christ. For example, many of us were baptized as infants, but one of our members found Christ and was baptized at 26! During our bible studies, we are currently going through a study on Philippians from youthESource. youthESource is published by The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod Office of National Mission—Youth Ministry.
What if I have to miss a meeting/event?
Look-we totally understand that life is busy! We decided to have two events a month (a bible study and a social event) BECAUSE life is so busy for us young adults. This frequency gives us plenty of opportunities to connect when we can, but also no pressure when we cannot. Make the events and studies that you can--and we'll just be so, so happy to see you there.
What do you mean by "young adult"?
Our group is primarily composed of young adults from college-aged through early 30s. Most of us are in the single/dating season of life, but we have many who are in the engaged/married stage. Unfortunately, we do not offer childcare at any of our events at this time.
Where do you meet?
We meet all over the greater Milwaukee area! From West Bend to Milwaukee, Menomonee Falls to Cedarburg-- we aim to meet all over so no one in our group is stuck driving a long commute too consistently. Our bible studies meet in homes, because we find that this smaller and more intimate setting helps deepen our conversations and connections.
